Daniel kicked off a run for the hosts before the ball deflected away and back into his path.
A silky setup between him and Paul Mendy then led to a left-footed shot from the centre of the box for 1-0.
According to Opta data, the younger Maldini is now the first Cagliari player to score in at least four consecutive Serie A appearances. The three prior were all match-winners.
João Pedro was the last to achieve the same feat for the club, scoring five goals between October and November 2020.
The youngster continued to have a fair share of influence for the rest of the first half.
