Dan Lanning offers injury update on Oregon WR Jeremiah McClellan

It was mostly good vibes for the Oregon Ducks and their fans on Friday night during an 84-0 blowout over the Portland State Vikings. However, unfortunate injury news came to light during the first quarter.

After warming up in full pads, redshirt sophomore wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan came out to the sideline in street clothes with a walking boot on his left foot, sporting crutches. Throughout the quarter, teammates routinely came up to him to check on him.

After the game, head coach Dan Lanning offered an update on his status.

“Got tweaked in pregame, have to get an evaluation to see what exactly that looks like. I don’t know right at this moment,” Lanning said.

So far this year, McClellan has been one of the top receivers for Oregon, hauling in seven passes for 170 yards and one touchdown. The Ducks still have a plethora of other options in the passing game, like Evan Stewart and Dakorien Moore, but this would be a tough loss for however long McClellan is out, especially with a crucial game against the USC Trojans coming up in Week 4.
