Through the summer, we will be counting down the Jets roster player by player. We continue the series by discussing Courtland Ford.

Year With Jets: 1st
Projected Role: Practice squad candidate
His 2025: Ford returned to Los Angeles for his final collegiate season, joining the UCLA Bruins. His college career started at USC in 2020. He was a member of the Trojans for three years, followed by a two year stint at Kentucky.
His performance was a tad uneven. Ford allowed 8 sacks in 11 starts after not allowing one from 2022 through 2025. He went undrafted and initially unsigned. The Jets offered Ford a tryout at their rookie minicamp, and he did enough to score a contract.
2026 will be a success if: Ford makes the practice squad. Like Xavier Hill, who we recently discussed, there isn’t much of a path for Ford to make the 53 man roster. Too many spots along the offensive line are already locked in. Since Ford wasn’t even part of the initial undrafted free agent class, he might face an even tougher path to earning a practice squad spot. If he gets one, he will have done well.
