Juventus have been heavily linked with Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, and while fresh reports in Italy suggest a deal is close, Fabrizio Romano says otherwise.
According to Romano, Alisson, whose contract at Liverpool has a year left to run, is open to joining Juventus this summer, but he will respect the wishes of his current club. And the 33-year-old has been informed by the Merseyside club that they want him to stay and see out his contract. Their stance could only change if Alisson demands to leave.
Alisson, rightly regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, has been among Liverpool’s top individual performers since arriving to Anfield from AS Roma in 2018, helping them win two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup, the FA Cup, and two League Cups. In all competitions, the Brazil international has 333 appearances for Liverpool, with 137 clean sheets to his name.
🚨 Understand Liverpool informed Alisson about their desire and plan to keep him for one more year.
Juventus offered Alisson a longer deal but #LFC insist to keep him.
Only player position could change stance but Liverpool clearly want him to stay.
