FC Bayern will play their first pre-season game away at 3. Liga side Wehen Wiesbaden. Vincent Kompany’s side only have six first-team players in their first week of preparation for the upcoming season due to the World Cup.
Wehen Wiesbaden nearly stunned FC Bayern when the two sides met in the first round of the DFB-Pokal last season. After they equalized from going two goals behind to the eventual champions, they suffered a heartbreak with Harry Kane’s 94th-minute penalty-kick strike.
The game will be played at Brita-Arena in Wiesbaden as the 3. Liga club celebrate their anniversary in front of an expected full house. Vincent Kompany decided to send a full team of youth players for the first-half, with Tom Bischof named among the substitutes.
