Confirmed: Barcelona starting lineup against Deportivo Alaves – academy product debuts

Following their 1-2 defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico last weekend, Barcelona are back in action tonight in La Liga as they take on Deportivo Alaves at the Spotify Camp Nou.

With kickoff only a little over an hour away, manager Hansi Flick has announced the starting lineup that will take the field against the Basque club.

And, after a long wait, Barcelona academy graduate Brian Farinas makes his official first-team debut.

The 20-year-old starlet, who was given the No. 4 shirt at the start of the season, starts at right-back in the absence of Xavi Espart, Eric Garcia, and Jules Kounde.

Meanwhile, in another major call, Flick has handed Frenkie de Jong his first start of the season, coming only a week after his maiden appearance of the campaign against Real Madrid.

Interestingly, the Netherlands international slots in as a centre-back tonight, with the manager opting to rest Gerard Martin. Pau Cubarsi continues at the heart of the Blaugrana defence.

Joao Cancelo continues on the left side of the defence, meaning Alejandro Balde has to settle for a place on the bench again.

Moving further up the pitch, Barcelona go into the game with the midfield trident of Pedri, Rodri, and Fermin Lopez, with Gavi and Marc Bernal being options on the bench.

Raphinha and Lamine Yamal retain their places in the Barcelona attacking line, where they are joined by Karim Adeyemi, who replaces Anthony Gordon on the left flank.
