The Washington Commanders could certainly use help on their WR depth chart.

Stefon Diggs would make a ton of sense as a late free agency target.

Diggs is from Maryland, and played collegiately for the Terrapins, too. He’s a local guy, and he’s still looking for his next NFL home.

The 34-year old wideout has played for the Vikings, Bills, Texans and Patriots. He still seems to have ability left in the tank, too.

Last season, Diggs caught 85 passes for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns as he helped the Pats reach the Super Bowl.

So those Commanders? ESPN’s Adam Schefter says they’re in the picture.

“The Washington Commanders could use another wide receiver,” Schefter said Monday on the Pat McAfee Show. “I could see them being in play for Stefon Diggs.”

The Commanders’ WR depth chart is led by one standout, Terry McLaurin.

After Scary Terry, though, it’s anyone’s guess who is next up.

Treylon Burks revived his career in Washington last season and should get ample opportunity.

They drafted Antonio Williams in the third round out of Clemson.

They also have the likes of Dyami Brown, Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane and Van Jefferson.

Yeah, Diggs sounds quite appealing when you look at the options like that.

McLaurin could be the deeper threat while Diggs would be more of a possession guy for Jayden Daniels. It certainly has some merit.
