Colorado football will open its 2026 home schedule with a refreshed atmosphere at Folsom Field, as CU Athletics introduces new ways for fans to stay involved during games. The first changes will arrive Sept. 12, when Weber State visits Boulder.
The new “Bands in the Stands” feature will bring Colorado musicians into the stadium before kickoff and at select points during the game. Performances will take place from the sixth-floor roof of the Champions Center, giving fans another reason to stay engaged during timeouts and other breaks in the action.
CU Athletics also announced that Colorado graduate Gianna Girardi will become the Buffaloes’ new in-game host. Girardi currently works as an in-game host for the Colorado Rockies and brings experience entertaining fans at a major Colorado sports venue.

Her role will be part of a redesigned video board presentation at Folsom Field. The updated production is expected to help build crowd energy and encourage fans to remain involved throughout the afternoon or evening.
CU athletic director Fernando Lovo said the additions are intended to strengthen the connection between the team and its fans while adding to Folsom Field’s home-field advantage.
Colorado will play six games at home in 2026. The schedule includes marquee matchups with Texas Tech, Utah and Houston. The Texas Tech game will serve as Homecoming and become part of CU’s 150th anniversary celebration.
