Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula will reunite to play doubles in loaded WTA Berlin draw

One of our favorite women’s tennis doubles teams, the all-American duo of Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula, is getting the band back together for the first time since the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Gauff and Pegula will play the Berlin Tennis Open together in a loaded doubles draw that includes Serena Williams with Karolina Muchova and 2026 Australian Open champions Elise Mertens and Shuai Zhang.

BFFs Gauff, Pegula won 2023 Miami Open

The camraderie off-court extends to their on court play. Gauff and Pegula’s biggest win was the WTA 1000 Miami Open in 2023. The pair, both with Miami ties, either through their residences or their training bases, were so jubilant to raise the trophy before a crowd of adoring home court fans.

Though they have remained close friends, both have focused on singles since the Paris Olympics.

Each has occasionally played doubles with other partners; Gauff played with Alex Eala at last year’s Italian Open. Pegula has played with Ashlyn Krueger and Storm Hunter. Prior to the Paris Olympics, Gauff experienced her greatest doubles success, winning the 2024 French Open with Katerina Siniakova who just won the title again this year with Taylor Townsend.

Our favorite Gauff, Pegula off-court moment happened last year at the WTA Finals when Gauff was giving Pegula fashion advice on her wardrobe selection for the high-profile and super elegant photo shoot.

Will we see more of Gauff, Pegula partnership this year

We don’t know if this is just a one-off event, or if Gauff and Pegula are considering playing more doubles together in 2026 and beyond.

Both are outstanding doubles players together and with other partners so it seems like a no-brainer that they reunite as often as their schedules permit.
