Christopher Bell qualifies 14th with broken wrist at Sonoma in 2026

Christopher Bell hopes to complete the NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway, and the No. 20 car has pace. After breaking his wrist in a crash with Chase Elliott during the Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway, Bell wasn’t able to complete the event in San Diego last weekend.

Now, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver will roll off in 14th place for the Cup Series race at Sonoma on Sunday. in fact, Bell was in Group A qualifying, meaning that he might have been fast enough to qualify in the top 10 spots with a broken wrist. It was a very impressive effort by Bell and the No. 20 team.

Bell must find a way to spark some momentum, as he has fallen to 12th in the point standings. Bell is one of NASCAR’s best road course drivers, and he could take advantage of that on Sunday. Even with a broken wrist, Bell has the speed to compete for a top-10 finish.
