While the record-breaking Erling Haaland might have been handed a full return at Wembley after being left as an unused substitute during Man City’s 3-0 victory against Europa Conference League finalists Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, it was another of Guardiola’s attacking superstars who stole centre stage in north London.

Although Semenyo might have only arrived in the blue half of Manchester back in January as the Etihad hierarchy agreed a reported £65million move from Bournemouth, the Ghanian international has made a remarkable immediate impact.

Producing a sensational flicked finish and proving to be City’s hero on Saturday afternoon, the one-time Bristol City starlet rightfully stole of the headlines at Wembley and underlined why Guardiola was so desperate to bring him in back in January.

Registering 10 goals across all competitions since arriving at City less than six months ago, Semenyo has become a key part of Guardiola’s attack and has certainly been one of the Premier League’s signings of the season.

Handing Guardiola a third individual FA Cup crown and with their talismanic boss confirming that he will be staying at the Etihad for another year, the ex-Barcelona manager was rightfully filled with praise for his latest striking superstar.
