Charlotte Hornets host former top prospect for pre-draft workout
The charlotte-hornets/5312/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Charlotte Hornets have many options in this year8217;s 2026 NBA Draft, as the team holds two mid-first-round picks (No. 14 and No. 18). With one of those selections, Charlotte could be targeting versatile Arizona forward Koa Peat. According to Peat’s TikTok story, he worked out for the Hornets Wednesday, posting a picture of his practice jersey online.
Last season with the Wildcats, Peat averaged 14.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.7 blocks and 0.6 steals. At 6’9″ and just 19 years of age, Peat has the potential to be one of the highest upside prospects in the entire draft. That said, he’s slid down draft boards recently, lacking polish at the 2026 NBA Draft Combine and displaying concerning shooting struggles as well. Either way, if the Hornets were to trade down, Peat would be a solid selection due to his potential and Charlotte’s need for frontcourt depth.
