Goalkeeper: Yann Sommer – Club Brugge

Club Brugge’s 3-0 win over Lens looked like a comfortable result on paper, in large part thanks to Yann Sommer. The veteran made a string of saves to deny the French side, who created six big chances without scoring.

Right-back: Federico Valverde – Real Madrid

Influential at both ends as Real Madrid made light work of Leipzig at the Bernabeu. Valverde led the contest for touches (116), made three key passes, five clearances, and four tackles on a characteristically all-action night.

Centre-back: Jacobo Ramon – Como

Expect the queue of clubs interested in Jacobo Ramon to get a little longer. A standout showing against Manchester United saw the Spanish centre-back lead the game for touches (103) and make a whopping 12 line-breaking passes. Late on, he ghosted forward to head home the fourth goal of an unforgettable win.

Centre-back: Natan – Real Betis

Real Betis maintained their 100% record in the Champions League this season with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Feyenoord. The Spanish side are back in this competition for the first time since 2005/06 and are making an impression. Natan led the side to a clean sheet, with 18 defensive actions, nine clearances, and just one misplaced pass.

Left-back: Carlos Augusto – Inter Milan

A brilliant breakaway goal from Carlos Augusto earned Inter a 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk, as the Italian champions recovered from Alessandro Bastoni’s red card to win.

Augusto became just the third Inter defender to score in consecutive Champions League appearances, after Giacinto Facchetti in 1967 and Denzel Dumfries in 2025.

Midfield: Vitinha – Paris Saint-Germain

The conductor of the best side in Europe. PSG will take some stopping in the chase for Champions League success, as the champions target a third straight crown.Vitinha was at his elusive best against Barcelona and capped a fine performance with a stunning goal.

Midfield: Phil Foden – Manchester City

How good is it to see Phil Foden back enjoying his football?

One of the most watchable talents in the Premier League has had a tough time of late, but this was Foden back at his best. A clinical hat-trick helped Manchester City cruised past AEK Athens and bodes well for Enzo Maresca’s in-form side.

Midfield: Nico Paz – Como

Argentina need an heir to Lionel Messi and Nico Paz has put his hand up for the role. An outstanding showing from Paz, who became theyoungest Argentinian player (22 years, 43 days) to be involved in three goals (2 goals, 1 assist) in a Champions League game since Messi in 2009.

Simply sensational, and the sort of performance that might tempt Real Madrid to trigger their €80m buy-back.

Right-wing: Rio Ngumoha – Liverpool

Absolutely electric. The teenager tore Villarreal apart in a coming-of-age performance at Anfield, with Ngumoha dangerous on either wing and ruthless in the final third.

One whipped delivery set up Ronald Araujo for the equaliser, before a surging run set-up Alexis Mac Allister to put Liverpool ahead.

Left-wing: Desire Doue – Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain sent a statement with a 4-2 win over Barcelona in the French capital. Desire Doue was the star of the show for PSG, opening the scoring with a strike from outside the box before later assisting Lucas Hernandez from a corner.

Forward: Harry Kane – Bayern Munich

Has a good a chance as anyone of taking the Ballon d’Or next week. Kane cut apart Arsenal with an exquisite pass for Alphonso Davies’ equaliser, before scoring the second from the spot to continue his fine record against the Gunners.
