The Boston Celtics are reportedly entertaining the idea of trading Jaylen Brown, and the New Orleans Pelicans have come up in rumors as a potential suitor.

Some reports indicate the Celtics have interest in Trey Murphy III, but obviously, he would not be enough to make the Celtics trade Brown. The two players they have offered him up for in the past are Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant, so it’s clear they want a massive return for him.

Celtics play-by-play announcer Sean Grande wants the Celtics to target Zion Williamson in a potential Jaylen Brown trade, saying he’s worth swinging big on.

“That’s the guy to me. If you’re gonna shoot the moon and roll the dice and swing for the fences, that to me is the only guy that I can see doing that for,” Grande said on CLNS. “We know what the potential problems are, but you always forget when he’s healthy or when he’s motivated or when he’s in shape and the dude’s 26 years old.”

Williamson was one of the most hyped up prospects in recent memory, with his high school mixtape going viral before he ever even played college basketball. He was the No. 1 overall pick in 2019, but has not lived up to his potential. He is a two-time All-Star, but has struggled to stay healthy.

He has tons of talent, but he has played more than 30 games just three times in the last seven seasons. He averages 23.8 points per game when he does play, however, and could be a huge addition to the front court if he stays healthy. The risk just seems too high.
