Cardinals’ Marvin Harrison Jr. trade to mystery NFL team ‘being finalized’

· · 2 min read

Marvin Harrison Jr.’s time with the Arizona Cardinals is apparently over, but an NFL insider isn’t giving out the details on where the wide receiver is heading just yet.

The 2024 first-round pick hasn’t lived up to the billing during his first two-plus seasons with the NFC West team. That’s caused trade rumors to circulate recently, and now it seems that the 24-year-old’s time in Arizona is finished.

NFL insider Adam Schefter reveals that Harrison Jr. is likely on the move before the Cardinals’ Week 6 game. However, Schefter surprisingly didn’t detail where the star wideout is headed.

The veteran NFL reporter did suggest the Houston Texans as one potential destination. No trade has been finalized prior to the Cardinals’ showdown with the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Harrison Jr.’s trade value is also worth noting because Arizona invested a lot in the former Ohio State star less than three years ago. Tom Pelissero reported Saturday morning that the Cardinals were seeking at least a second-round pick.

Where could Marvin Harrison Jr. be heading?

One team that’s reportedly out of the mix for the underperforming receiver is the Indianapolis Colts. Many fans and reporters speculated Indy could be a potential landing spot given that is where Harrison Jr.’s father played for his entire career.

The Colts legend spent 13 seasons in the NFL and is considered one of the best Indianapolis stars from the Peyton Manning era at quarterback.

This season, Harrison Jr. has been limited to just 85 yards and one touchdown reception. NFL fans will be closely watching the situation and awaiting a potential destination for the young WR.

The biggest surprise about the timing of the alleged trade is that it comes before Arizona faces Detroit. The Lions have one of the weakest passing defenses in the NFL as teams continue to feast on them.
