Jeremiyah Love sent a clear message to the Arizona fanbase about his availability as the Cardinals gear up for Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season.
Love started the rookie campaign of his career with the Cardinals. He enjoyed an incredible collegiate career at Notre Dame, shining as one of the best running backs in the nation. Arizona liked his skillset and ceiling, selecting him third overall.
Love showed flashes in his season debut against the Los Angeles Chargers. He made 11 rushes for 41 yards and a touchdown while catching two passes for nine yards. However, he sustained pain in his ankle as he’s been healing throughout the past couple of days. The rookie rusher spoke with media on Thursday, providing a positive update on his health.
“I didn’t feel limited by my ankle…. just got to be mindful of where my body is,” Love told the media, per Bo Brack of PHNX Sports. “Heading into this next week, it’s all gas no brakes. If I’m on the field, I’m going. Whether my ankle is going to fall off, I’m on the field I got to do my job.”

Jeremiyah Love looks to have a bright future with the Cardinals as a key player in the offense. With the team coming off a surprising 26-14 win over the Chargers, there is promise for them to exceed expectations.
Arizona started a new era after moving on from Kyler Murray, who went to the Minnesota Vikings this past offseason. They have committed to Jacoby Brissett, seeing Love and Trey McBride among others have significant roles in the attack.
The Cardinals will look forward to their matchup against the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks. That matchup in Week 2 will commence on Sept. 20 at 4:25 p.m. ET.
