Carabao Cup: 18 teams qualify for third round

At least 18 teams have qualified for the Carabao Cup third round following Tuesday’s matches.
Leeds United won 2-0 at Nottingham Forest, while Brentford thrashed Birmingham City 6-1.

Sheffield United beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Ewood Park, while Peterborough United hammered Watford 5-1.

Millwall edged Cambridge United 1-0, while Barnsley claimed a 3-2 win over Crewe Alexandra.

Middlesbrough defeated Doncaster Rovers 3-1, Norwich City won 2-1 at Cardiff City, Wolves beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0, and Coventry City edged Plymouth 4-2.

Reading thrashed Stevenage 3-0, Lincoln City hammered Blackpool 4-1, while Leyton Orient needed penalties to see off Walsall after a goalless draw.

Hull City also needed a penalty shoot-out to eliminate Stoke City, while West Ham United outclassed Southampton 4-1 and Fleetwood Town thrashed Shrewsbury Town 4-0.

Ipswich Town beat Leicester City 2-0.

There will be more second-round fixtures on Wednesday night.
