Cam Young picks the player with his favourite golf swing on the United States Presidents Cup team

Cam Young has named his favourite golf swing from the United States Presidents Cup team. Young is set to play in his second Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club this week, four years after his debut at Quail Hollow.

Young is now expected to be one of the USA’s team leaders after an excellent PGA Tour season, winning two events. Alongside the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele on a star-studded roster, the US should have no trouble winning.

Cam Young has one of the PGA Tour’s most recognisable swings, with a noticeable pause at the top of his backswing. However, he appreciates one of his US teammates’ more orthodox swing.

“Probably Xander,” he named Schauffele as the Presidents Cup player with his favourite swing. “I just like the way he hits it.”

Young answered several other quick questions in his pre-Presidents Cup press conference, admitting he would most likely be late to the bus. He also named Schauffele and Justin Thomas as the two most likely to bring energy to the golf course this weekend.

No one will be surprised at Young picking world number one Scottie Scheffler as the most competitive. However, few would have guessed who the biggest trash talkers on the US team are. “Xander. Maybe Gary. Scottie. There are a few,” Young said.

Meanwhile, Young said he was excited to be on the same team as Scheffler at the Presidents Cup after competing with him on the PGA Tour all season. “He’s the best player in the world,” Young added. “He’s been that way for a few years now.

“When he’s himself, it’s impressive. He’s really, really good. Yeah, I love watching him play well. Especially one of these weeks when he’s on my team, I’m not trying to beat him. Because when he’s good, he’s awfully hard to beat.”
