‘Called It in August,’ ‘Offense on Fire’ — Kay Adams Doubles Down on Prediction of Bears Representing NFC in Super Bowl LXI

The Chicago Bears had high expectations entering the 2026 NFL season, and so far, it’s safe to say they’re very much living up to those. The Bears lost Caleb Williams to a hamstring injury, but they’re still 3-1 and firmly in contention to battle the Minnesota Vikings for control of the NFC North.

For one NFL analyst, Chicago’s performance this year certainly didn’t come out of the blue.

This week on her “Up & Adams” show, host Kay Adams spoke about the Bears and their incredible start to the season.

“I am doubling down on the Bears to win the NFC and to go to the Super Bowl. I called it in August. The offense is on fire without Caleb… I can’t imagine how it will look when he gets back. He’s probably seeing the game a different way… The run game is unstoppable, the defense is dominating,” Adams said.

Adams also took note of Chicago’s competition, writing off two divisional rivals who may have had a claim to contention prior to the season. Adams says the path to the Super Bowl is clear if the Bears can maintain this trajectory.

“The Packers and Lions, shambles. Done, cooked, as the kids say… The Vikings, legit. But the contenders look not great,” she said.

The Bears have picked up big wins over the Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers early in this season. Williams went down in the team’s only loss of the year so far, suffering a hamstring injury in a 9-3 defeat against the Vikings in Week 2.

But Chicago has not had a problem moving the football with Williams out. Veteran quarterback Case Keenum put on a show against the Eagles in Week 3, then Tyson Bagent took over under center and led the team to a win over the New York Jets.

To Adams’ point, the defense is certainly holding up well. In fact, they have allowed the third-fewest yards per game this season. PFN’s Defense Impact Metric ranks Chicago 6th in the league, while the franchise ranks 8th in Offense Impact.

It’s still early in the season, so there’s plenty of football left to play. With how the team looks now, it’s hard not to wonder about Chicago’s potential once Williams returns to the field.

The Bears won’t have their starting quarterback this week, unfortunately. Nonetheless, they have to put all their focus on their opponent as Chicago adds another chapter to a historic rivalry with the Green Bay Packers in Week 5.
