Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever trailed by one point with 4.3 seconds remaining. They faced the possibility having a record below .500 if they lost to the Washington Mystics on Monday. However, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of Year made sure they had the last laugh on the night.

Clark finished with 19 points built on four 3-pointers, along with three rebounds, five assists and one steal. Aliyah Boston backed her with a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double, while Kelsey Mitchell supplied 15 points and four rebounds.
While efficiency from the field remains a struggle for Clark, she likely won’t be bothered by Monday’s performance. The win improved the Fever’s record to 6-5 and they will play three of their next five games at home. The two-time All-Star’s game-winner could be what the team needs to start stringing wins together ahead of the halfway mark of the season.
