Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has admitted he was sad when Declan Rice ended up joining Arsenal, as he feels he would be perfect for the Red Devils.
The Portugal international is clearly a big fan of Rice, and has not hidden the fact that he would have loved the chance to play alongside him at Man Utd.
The England international shone at West Ham before joining the Gunners, and prior to that move he had been linked with a number of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and Europe.

Both Fernandes and Rice have been among the best players in the Premier League this season, though it’s the United midfielder who’s been voted for the FWA award.

“I’ve always said I always thought that Rice was a player to play for Man United,” Fernandes said.
“And I was I was really sad when he when he chose to go Arsenal. I didn’t know if was there the opportunity or the chance for him to come to to Manchester United but I always thought that he would be a perfect fit for our club.”

Declan Rice surely won’t regret Arsenal transfer
Back in the day, Rice may well have ended up at Old Trafford, and it’s certainly easy to imagine him being the kind of player who would have thrived under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Still, the 27-year-old is on the brink of both Premier League and Champions League glory with Arsenal this season, so he surely won’t be thinking too much about if he should’ve gone to MUFC instead.

Although it’s been a better season for United this season, they still remain some way off challenging for the very biggest trophies again.
Fernandes has been in superb form, though, and if he can repeat that next season then they surely have a chance of re-establishing themselves as a force.
