Bruce Buffer has announced UFC title fights at the White House and introduced teams before the 2026 World Cup final, but one major sporting assignment remains on his wish list.
The longtime “Voice of the Octagon” told TMZ Sports that he hopes the NFL will eventually invite him onto the field to open a Super Bowl.
With Super Bowl LXI scheduled for SoFi Stadium near his Los Angeles home, Buffer used the interview to make his interest unmistakable: “Take note, NFL. I’m ready to go.”
Buffer Called the Super Bowl His Remaining Bucket-List Event
Buffer said he would consider an invitation from the NFL an honor after three decades of introducing fighters inside the UFC Octagon. “My bucket list personally is to one day in the future have the honor of being requested by the NFL to announce the opening of the Super Bowl,” he said.
The role he described would be a ceremonial introduction rather than a position in the broadcast booth. The NFL has not announced an agreement with Buffer or publicly responded to his pitch.
Buffer noted that the next championship game would be particularly convenient because he lives near SoFi Stadium. “I live down the street,” he joked.

Buffer has already delivered his signature announcing style at an official NFL event. In February 2024, he introduced the Chiefs and 49ers as they entered Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night in Las Vegas.
The appearance took place six days before the teams met in the championship game. Buffer brought each roster onto the field for media interviews but did not participate in the pregame presentation on Super Bowl Sunday. He also appeared in Bud Light’s “Up for Whatever” commercial during Super Bowl XLIX in 2015.

Buffer made his NFL pitch days after appearing with his half-brother, boxing announcer Michael Buffer, before the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina on July 19.
The brothers delivered separate introductions for the finalists at New York New Jersey Stadium. Bruce used the emphatic style associated with his “It’s time!” UFC announcement, while Michael brought the voice behind boxing’s “Let’s get ready to rumble!”
Bruce had also introduced France before its semifinal against Spain, while Michael handled Argentina’s introduction before its semifinal against England. Super Bowl LXI is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
