Browns vs Patriots: Most important things to watch in final preseason action

The Cleveland Browns have one final preseason game against the New England Patriots before they kick off their season against the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 6th. It will be the last chance for the coaching staff and front office to evaluate the talent on this roster in an actual game situation. This preseason game will be far less about the starters and more about the fringe roster players. What is the most important thing that they should be looking to see during this matchup?

First, Dillon Gabriel and Taylen Green will take the snaps at quarterback during this game. Both players will be looking to prove why they deserve a spot on the roster, with Deshaun Watson confirmed as the starter and Shedeur Sanders serving as his backup. Both players will need to show they can play consistently and make sound decisions within the offense to earn a spot on the team.

With Alex Wright out for the season with an Achilles injury, the depth on the Browns defensive line will have an opportunity to step up and show why they deserve to be a part of the team’s defensive game plan this season. If someone can make some big plays and find some moments to shine, they may move up in the ranks on this side of the ball.

Let me know what you think in the comments – What do you want to see most in the Browns’ final preseason game against the Patriots?
