Browns' tease new Quinshon Judkins' skillset in latest social video

browns/329" target="_blank">Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins was mic’d up for Cleveland’s OTA practice on Wednesday. Typically, these types of videos are more “rah-rah” than anything of real substance, but sometimes I can’t turn the football nerd off.

I was particularly curious about two things while watching Judkins. The first, and most importantly, how was he moving? This is something that is always on his mind after his gruesome injury at the end of last year. Once he checked that box, I was curious about what he was practicing.

I was less interested in what types of runs he was doing and more interested in the pass game and how Todd Monken was using him. What I saw put a smile on my face.

This clip started at 0:10 into the video, and it should get Browns fans excited. Judkins started in the backfield to the left of Shedeur Sanders. He motioned up and out of the backfield to the right. The ball was snapped with him still in motion. The route that he ran was a nasty one.

He went three steps towards the sideline, put his foot into the ground, came two steps back toward the middle of the field before whipping out back to the sideline. A sick triple move route, presumably on a linebacker covering him out of the backfield.

Most importantly, the first guy to meet him after the rep was none other than head coach and playcaller Todd Monken. Monken provided him with a coaching tip, and Judkins ate it up.

This entire 20-second sequence was amazing. It showed me that Judkins was moving well and that the Browns are invested in using him as a weapon, not just a handoff running back.

Judkins has a big year in front of him. He was a key selection of the Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft and immediately proved the Browns right, even behind one of the worst offensive lines in the League. It was pretty much all positive for Judkins until he had a nasty leg break late in the season.

As Monken has always said, he is going to fit his offense to his guys’ skillsets, simple as that. Well, he is putting his money where his mouth is. Judkins might be one of the players who benefits the most from the Monken hire.

If it all goes well, Cleveland’s offense could be very fun and explosive in 2026.
