Jaylen Waddle quickly erased concerns about his health Wednesday. He returned as a full participant at Denver Broncos practice just days after being spotted wearing a walking boot following Sunday night’s dramatic victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Waddle’s postgame appearance in the protective boot immediately raised questions about his availability for Denver’s Week 4 trip to face the San Francisco 49ers. That was particularly after he dealt with lower-body tightness during training camp. Those concerns, however, seem to have been premature.

According to The Athletic’s Nick Kosmider, head coach Sean Payton confirmed Waddle was a full participant. He handled his complete workload Wednesday. The boot was simply precautionary after the game. Waddle is reportedly doing fine. That is welcome news for an offense increasingly reliant on Waddle’s speed and explosiveness. Through three games, Waddle has recorded 11 receptions for 150 yards. He also added a crucial two-point conversion during Denver’s 30-26 comeback victory over Los Angeles.

His availability becomes even more important with the Broncos entering Week 4 at 2-1 and facing a difficult road test against San Francisco. With Waddle practicing without restrictions, Denver can continue building its passing attack around his ability to threaten defenses vertically.

Waddle arrived in Denver through a March trade with Miami. He has quickly become an important component of Payton’s offense. After a quiet opener against Kansas City, he erupted against Jacksonville with eight catches for 138 yards. He then contributed another key moment against the Rams. The brief walking-boot scare now appears firmly behind him, allowing Waddle to focus on the 49ers.
