Brock Purdy is now the NFL's all-time leader in this stat
When the San Francisco 49ers took Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy with the final pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, it’s clear they thought he might be able to develop into an NFL quarterback, but they probably didn’t think he’d be this successful.
During San Francisco’s Week 7 matchup against the Washington Commanders on Monday night, Purdy completed five of his six passes on the opening drive, including an 11-yard touchdown to tight end George Kittle.
On that opening possession, Purdy qualified for the NFL’s all-time passer rating leaderboard. With over 1,500 pass attempts, Purdy is now the all-time leader in passer rating, passing Lamar Jackson, who has a 102.7 passer rating.
In his career heading into Week 7, Purdy had completed 68% of his passes for 12,881 yards with 97 touchdowns and 39 interceptions. He had a 105.4 passer rating.
What Purdy’s doing is remarkable, and no matter how his career goes, he’ll be remembered in football history forever.
