Broadcast information announced for Red River Showdown

The Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns will renew perhaps the greatest rivalry in all of sports on Saturday, October 10th, and while the kickoff time for the Red River Rivalry has been known for months now, we now know what TV channel the game will air on.

According to the SEC’s press release on Monday, ABC will broadcast the game, which will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT. The announcing team for the game at the neutral site in Dallas is not yet known. Texas is the designated visiting team for this year’s matchup, with Oklahoma as the designated home team, as they are for each even year in the Cotton Bowl. This game will be Oklahoma’s first appearance on ABC this season.

Both teams will be coming off of their bye weeks as they enter this matchup, and while top-ranked Texas is 4-0 and surging to start the year, unranked Oklahoma is 2-2 and struggling to open the season. Last year, unranked Texas already had two losses and sat at 3-2 coming into South Dallas, but they still won by 17 over the 5-0 and sixth-ranked Sooners.

It was Texas’ second-straight win in the rivalry series, but Oklahoma made the College Football Playoff last season, while the Longhorns were left out. Now, OU looks to return the favor on ABC at the State Fair of Texas in 2026.
