Brighton chief executive Paul Barber insists the club “don’t fear” losing players or coaches, as they have succession plans in place.
The Seagulls are flying high under Fabian Hurzeler this season, sitting third in the Premier League after five games.
They thrashed reigning champions Arsenal 3-0 before the international break, while they also reached the last 16 of the EFL Cup with a thrilling comeback win over Manchester United.
Brighton are the highest scorers in the Premier League this season, with their 16 goals the most by a side in their first five games since Manchester City in 2022-23 (19).
The likes of Maxim De Cuyper, Charalampos Kostoulas and Malick Yalcouye have impressed for the Seagulls, while Pascal Gross also won the Premier League Player of the Month award for September.
“If we do well, it’s because our players and coaches are doing well. And if that happens, they’re going to be on someone else’s radar,” Barber told Sky Sports News.
“We’ve been through that loop many times before, but that’s our model. We don’t fear it – we have succession plans in place on and off the field.”

Brighton could also lift some European silverware this season as they are participating in the Conference League.
Three of the five editions of the competition have been won by English teams, including each of the last two (Chelsea – 2025, Crystal Palace – 2026).
“Our club and staff have been through a lot. We have no divine right to win something this year, but everyone is working very hard towards it,” added Barber.
“I wouldn’t want to put that pressure on us, but we’re aware of how well English teams have done, not only in this competition but in the Europa League and Champions League.
“There is an expectation with being a Premier League club. You may have better resources and arguably players, but that doesn’t guarantee any result. You’ve got to earn it.”
