President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has finally ended his working vacation in Europe after spending at least 30 days away from Nigeria.
The president, who departed Abuja for Europe on August 30 for his annual leave, was expected to return to the country after 21 days.
His return, however, was rescheduled at least two times.
DAILY POST reports that Tinubu’s absence from the country has drawn criticism from opposition parties, which have demanded clarification on his whereabouts and health status.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the president’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga said the president has already departed Paris, France, for the homeward journey to Nigeria.
According to Onanuga, President Tinubu’s aircraft “is expected to touch down at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, later this evening.
“The Nigerian leader chose to fly to Lagos first to honour the memory of Chief MKO Abiola, the martyr of Nigeria’s democratic struggle”.
