BREAKING: Barcelona player with “immense quality” decides to leave club after manager comments

An exclusive report coming from well connected Barcelona source Jijantes claims that Alejandro Balde will not continued with the Catalan club,

The defender has taken the decision to push for a move, following a recent round of talks with the club. He has concluded that he’s not in Hansi Flick’s plans for the first team, and that opportunities are going to be limited for him this season and beyond.

Jorge Mendes – who else – has been appointed to work for Balde to help him find a move in the final days of the window. There is sure to be interest, with Saudi clubs already linked. Balde is said to prefer staying in Europe, however, and it will be very interesting to see which teams make a move at this late stage.

Balde could theoretically fetch a big price, as despite being out of favour he’s shown great quality at times.

Flick comments seem to trigger Balde exit

Flick’s recent comments about Balde cast doubts on the academy product’s commitment:

“He’s a player of immense quality, and it’s important to know if he’s convinced he can compete in his position. That’s what I want to see from all my players,” Flick said.

“I need everyone to be one hundred percent, totally committed.”

We don’t know how directly these comments led to Balde’s decision, but the arrival of Joao Cancelo combined with this open lack of faith from the coach were clearly enough to convince the 22 year old that he was best served by moving on.
