Marco Rose is relishing the opportunity to grow at Bournemouth ahead of his first Premier League season.
Rose was named as Andoni Iraola’s successor back in April, officially beginning work at Bournemouth in June.
He comes into a squad that will be playing in Europe for the first time, with their sixth-place finish resulting in a Europa League place.
Bournemouth finished the campaign on an 18-match unbeaten streak in the top-flight (W8 D10). The only non-title-winning teams to have a longer run at the end of a campaign are Chelsea (21 in 2007-08) and Liverpool (19 in 2021-22), both of whom finished second.
Under Iraola, the Cherries broke their Premier League points record in each of his three seasons, achieving 48 points in 2023-24, 56 in 2024-25 and 57 in 2025-26.
And Rose is now relishing the new test ahead of him.
“If you leave your comfort zone, go abroad, meet new people, experience a new culture and speak a new language, you are just going to grow as a person,” said Rose.
“I’m very excited, and I’m convinced I’ve made the right decision.
“I’ve settled in very well because the people here have made it quite easy for us, not just for me, but for my whole staff.

“Everything has been done really quickly, and that helps going into the important part of my job. Everyone supports me, and everyone is nice to me, so I really appreciate it.
“I can’t wait for our first home game so I can meet our supporters. I’ve heard they are very knowledgeable and really get behind the team, both home and away.
“As always with new people coming in, it’s important to get to know one another as quickly as possible, and I can’t wait to meet them.”
Bournemouth will find out their first European opponents when the draw takes place on August 28, with their first match taking place on either September 16 or 17.
“We need to see who we get in the draw,” Rose, who has previous Europa League experience with Salzburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund, said.
“There are some big clubs in there, some big challenges and different styles of play. If you go to Germany, the crowds are a little different, so you have to get used to it and adapt.
“From what I have seen so far, our players are excited about it and ready. We have a lot of internationals, and they are used to these challenges.”
Bournemouth’s first match of the Premier League season sees them travel to Manchester City on August 23.
