Boston Celtics lose 103-97 to Orlando Magic in final Las Vegas Summer League tilt

In a close contest with 10 lead changes, the Boston Celtics dropped their final game of Las Vegas Summer League to the Orlando Magic 103-97. The tilt saw not only second-year Celtics forward Hugo Gonzalez sit out, but both of Boston’s 2026 NBA Draft selections Chris Cenac Jr. and Dillon Mitchell inactive, Sin City Celtics head coach Amile Jefferson electing to give unsigned players on the roster more run.

That was too much for the Summer Celtics to overcome, Boston losing the shot margin battle by 5 attempts while turning the ball over 25 times, combining to doom the team to a Magic victory. Among the starters, only former two way wing John Tonje (14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block) and camp invitee Tucker DeVries (11 points and 2 assists) scored in double figures.

Off the bench, Caleb Grill (18 points, 3 boards, and 1 assist) was the only prospective player who had a notable impact in the loss.
