Boston Celtics draft picks tracker 2026: Live results, grades, updates, list of selections and trades

The Boston Celtics could be in the headlines soon if the Jaylen Brown trade rumors continue.

But amid all of that, the 2026 NBA Draft has arrived.

It’s both a chance for the Celtics to consider a Brown trade more fully, but also a chance to simply make their team better.

Boston overachieved relative to expectations in 2025-26, but now hoped to be at full health in the season ahead, the Celtics will have high hopes.

That puts pressure on a draft pick to be ready quickly or risk not playing at all.

Below, we’ll keep track of how the Celtics approach things on draft night.

The Celtics are making these picks:

Round 1, Pick 27: Chris Cenac Jr. (Houston)

Round 2, Pick 40: Dillon Mitchell (St. John’s)

These are how Sporting News grades each of the Celtics’ draft picks:

  • Round 1, Pick 27: Chris Cenac Jr. – B+
    • A lanky frontcourt player who can really shoot it, Cenac was a top-10 player in his class. He didn’t quite shine at Houston, but he’s got great offensive upside.

  • Round 2, Pick 40: Dillon Mitchell – B

    • This a high-variance ‘B’ grade. If Mitchell scores at all, he can be a starter. If he doesn’t — and right now, he really can’t — then his defense and passing will have to be exceptional to keep him around.
