Benue BECE 2026 Postponed By BEQAEB
Benue State Education Quality Assurance and Examinations Board, BEQAEB, has postponed the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination, earlier scheduled to begin on Monday, 18 May 2026.
The board said it moved the examination because of unforeseen circumstances. A new start date will be shared with the public when BEQAEB releases the official examination timetable.
Who Should Note The BECE Postponement
The notice goes to principals, proprietors, parents, guardians, candidates and other stakeholders connected with the examination.
Schools that had prepared for the Monday, 18 May 2026 start date should wait for the new date from BEQAEB. Candidates should also keep their exam plans open until the board releases the timetable.

BEQAEB has not given a new date yet.
The board said it will communicate the new commencement date to the public alongside the official timetable. That means candidates and schools should watch for the next notice before making fresh exam arrangements.
BEQAEB Message To Stakeholders
BEQAEB expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the postponement.
The board also appealed for understanding and continued cooperation from all stakeholders; it stated that it remains committed to conducting a credible, transparent and hitch-free examination process.
