When the Bears and Falcons square off at 1:00 p.m. ET in Atlanta on Sunday, the game will feature the top two rushing attacks in the NFL.
The Bears lead the league with 173.2 rushing yards per game. The Falcons rank second, with 166.8.
The Falcons had been doing well against the run through the first four games of the season, allowing 193 total rushing yards. In Week 5 against the Ravens, the Falcons surrendered 208 yards on the ground.
Despite Chicago’s proficiency on the ground, the offense has sputtered where it counts. Via NBC Sports research, the Bears rank last in the NFL in red-zone touchdown percentage, at 42.9. In 21 red-zone possessions through five games, the Bears have scored nine touchdowns.
Both teams will have their passing games available, too. Bears starter Caleb Williams returns, four weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter of a loss to the Vikings. For the Falcons, Michael Penix Jr. will play despite a rib injury that knocked him out late in the Week 5 overtime loss.
