Bayern Munich to hold initial talks with Michael Olise

Bayern Munich are looking to hold initial talks with Michael Olise over a contract extension in the coming weeks, as the German giants look to secure the long-term future of one of their most prized assets.

During the summer window, Olise was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, but Bayern remained adamant that the winger was not for sale and resisted any approaches for the Frenchman.

Premier League heavyweights Liverpool are also searching for a left-footed winger capable of operating on the right, with Olise emerging as one of their major targets.

Michael Olise: Bayern’s contract latest

Olise is currently under contract at Bayern Munich until 2029, but the club are keen to reward his remarkable progress by tying him down to a new long-term agreement.

The French winger has become one of Vincent Kompany’s most important players and enjoyed a prolific 2025-26 campaign, registering 22 goals and 31 assists across all competitions.

Olise has carried that form into the new season, already finding the net eight times and providing four assists, while his performances have earned widespread admiration within the Bayern dressing room.

Christian Falk has told CFBayern Insider that Bayern officials recently met with Olise’s agent, Glen Tweneboah, in Munich to discuss how his client’s public image could be presented more effectively, with the club also standing to benefit from such a strategy.

Bayern’s management understand that negotiations over a new contract could prove more complicated than those involving Harry Kane, while Olise and his representatives have so far given no indication as to whether the winger is prepared to extend his stay beyond 2029.

The Bavarian giants would like to offer Olise a new contract until 2032 and place him among the club’s highest earners alongside Kane and Jamal Musiala, although the player’s camp is understood to want a release clause inserted into any potential agreement.

A release clause exceeding €200m is considered realistic in Olise’s case, which would provide Bayern with significant protection while still giving the player a defined route out of the club should he eventually decide to seek a new challenge.

Bayern have no intention of selling Olise, but should the winger ultimately refuse to sign a new contract, the club could find themselves facing the difficult choice of cashing in before his current deal enters its final stages.

Olise could be tempted by the prospect of joining Real Madrid, where he would reunite with France teammates Kylian Mbappe and Ibrahima Konate and take another giant step in his already rapidly accelerating career.

A return to the Premier League could also appeal, although doubts remain over whether Liverpool would be prepared to meet the enormous transfer fee that Bayern would inevitably demand for one of their most valuable players.
