When Lennart Karl went down in training on Friday, it might have set a bad tone for things to come as Germany looked like it missed the phenom in its attack during Germany’s nervy 2-1 win over the United States.

German national team head coach Julian Nagelsmann revealed an initial diagnosis for Karl, which indicated that Karl could out four-to-six weeks or more. This, of course, is bad news for all involved as the youngster might not make his return until August for the Bavarians.

“Lenny will be out for between four and six weeks, maybe a bit longer – depending on the recovery process. He’s a young player, so recovery can happen a bit faster. But definitely not enough for him to be able to participate in the tournament,” Nagelsmann said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

Germany’s attack was lacking without both Karl and Deniz Undav, who was nursing an injury to his “butt cheek”, but did enter as a sub in the 61st minute. Clearly, Nagelsmann has more problems than just missing Karl.
