According to Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas, Bayern Munich are considering a move for Dani Olmo as they prepare for the possibility of increased interest in key attackers Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise.
The Bundesliga giants are understood to be drawing up contingency plans ahead of the January transfer window, with Olmo emerging as one of the leading names on their shortlist. Bayern have admired the Spain international for several years, dating back to his successful spell with RB Leipzig, and have continued to track his development since his move to Barcelona.
Having made the move in 2024, Olmo has registered 20 goals and 20 assists in almost 100 appearances for the Blaugrana, adding to the impressive record he built in Germany.
Any deal would come at a significant cost, however. Olmo, who recently spoke about Barcelona’s failed pursuit of Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez, is reportedly valued at around €70m, reflecting both his importance to Barcelona and his standing as one of Europe’s top attacking midfielders.
The 28-year-old further enhanced his reputation at this summer’s World Cup, playing a key role in Spain’s triumph. He started all but two matches during the tournament, including the final, and contributed two assists along the way. In total, he has earned 58 caps for his country so far, scoring 12 goals.
