Perfection is still in play for Section 9 Class AA baseball champion Cornwall.
The Dragons posted a 9-0 shutout of Section 1 champ Rye in a state quarterfinal playoff in Saugerties on Saturday, June 6. Cornwall, the top-ranked team in New York, moved to 24-0, and will play in next week’s state Final Four in Binghamton.
The Dragons will get a pro’s showcase with a prime-time state semifinal on Friday, June 12, at Morabito Stadium, host of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the Mets’ farm team.
