Barcelona ‘very close’ to 2nd summer signing

La Liga giants Barcelona are on the verge of tying up an agreement for their 2nd signing of the summer transfer window.

This comes amid confirmation of the Blaugrana brass closing on an imminent deal for Racing Santander talent Jorge Salinas.

Salinas is for his part fresh off a stellar campaign on the books of the aforementioned Racing.

En route to the Racinguistas topping the La Liga 2 table to secure promotion back to the Spanish top-flight, the 19-year-old emerged as one of the club’s star performers.

Across 32 league appearances, Salinas racked up a head-turning seven assists from his berth at left-back.

Such exploits are understood to have caught the eye of a number of top-flight clubs, not least the aforementioned Barcelona. And if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then the Camp Nou board look all set to beat out the stiff competition to Salinas’ signature this summer.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Jorge Salinas is very close to becoming FC Barcelona’s second signing for the 2026/27 season. Deco’s sporting management has ‘tied up’ the young promise of Real Racing Club de Santander and, if nothing goes wrong, his signing will be closed before June 30.’
