The respective boards at Barcelona and Manchester United are in disagreement when it comes to the potential terms of a transfer for Blaugrana defender Alejandro Balde. That’s according to ESPN, who have early this week provided an insight into the situation.
Left-back Balde has of course seen his name dominate the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the last couple of days. After reports began to mount that the Spaniard could be on the move before the summer is out, he was left out of Hansi Flick’s squad for Barcelona’s La Liga opener against Elche.
All the while, the aforementioned Man United are waiting in the wings, ready to pounce amid an ongoing search for reinforcements on the left.
The Red Devils are understood to have held preliminary discussions with Balde’s representatives, over the potential terms of a deal. During as much, the Old Trafford brass revealed their hopes of bringing the 22-year-old in on loan.
Barcelona, however, currently have no intention of sanctioning such a formula. As per a report from ESPN:
‘While the Red Devils would consider a loan move, Barcelona are in favour of a permanent transfer. The idea of the Catalan club would be to achieve a sale ranging between 30 and 40 million euros in order to reinvest that money in another defender.’
