Public court records viewed by PEOPLE show that a copy of a warrant for a person named Rashod Bateman was filed in Walton County on June 3.
According to arrest documents, Bateman, 26, allegedly used an object to break a window on the driver’s side of the mother’s car while she was inside the vehicle, per TMZ.
Authorities stated they later observed glass and wounds on the woman’s face. Court documents also stated that the couple’s 3-month-old baby was in the back seat of the vehicle at the time of the incident, per TMZ and ESPN.
Bateman surrendered himself to authorities later that day, according to TMZ.
Bateman faces charges of family violence battery, reckless conduct and criminal damage to property, per ESPN.

The court initially approved a no-contact order between Bateman and the woman, per documents obtained by TMZ. However, the order was lifted several weeks later after Bateman claimed the woman wished to resume contact.
A judge ordered that Bateman could see the woman after he completed a class, per TMZ.
“It is unfortunate that a personal family situation has been taken completely out of context for sensational reasons. We will let the court process play out, and the facts will come out at that time,” Bateman’s attorney, Jordan Siev, said in a statement to TMZ.
In a separate statement to the outlet, a spokesperson for the Baltimore Ravens said they “are aware of the situation involving Rashod and have been in direct communication with him.”
“We notified the league office and have been cooperating throughout the process. As this is a pending legal matter, we will not have further comment,” the spokesperson added, per TMZ.
