Former Newcastle United striker, Alan Shearer has picked Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
According to Shearer, Kane has an insane goal-scoring record and should win the Ballon d’Or ahead of Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast about who should win the Ballon d’Or this year, Shearer said, “It should be Harry all day. His numbers are insane.”
Former Barcelona striker Gary Lineker also picked Kane to win the Ballon d’Or, saying, “Harry Kane’s had an incredible year. I would love to see Harry get it.”
Similarly, former Manchester City defender, Micah Richards added, “Yamal had great moments, but he was not on fire throughout the tournament. But for Harry Kane, like you said, because he is an Englishman. Yeah, I would go with Harry Kane this year.”
