This article contains spoilers for Avatar: Seven Havens
Avatar: Seven Havens premiered to largely positive reviews from fans and critics alike, though some of its plot points have left audiences theorizing.
The third series in the Avatar franchise, Seven Havens takes place 225 years after The Legend of Korra and follows the twin Avatars, Pavi and Nisha, in a world where the Avatar is feared. The Nickelodeon show stars Major Curda, Saheli Khan, Akshay Khanna, Aishwarya Devan, Darren Barnet, Sakina Jaffrey, and Dee Bradley Baker. Original Avatar creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko return as executive producers alongside Ethan Spaulding, with Sehaj Sethi as co-executive producer.
At the onset of the series, both sisters struggle with amnesia and are unaware of the other’s existence. Throughout the season, they reconnect while under the tutelage of the modern incarnation of the Order of the White Lotus and uncover the mystery of their missing parents. Pavi and Nisha also combat a fear-inducing spiritual anomaly that ultimately leads to a realization that causes the sisters to part ways.
The final moments of Seven Havens see Pavi go off with airbender Jae (Curda) to the Floating Isles, while Nisha stays behind in Ellora, the season’s primary setting, with White Lotus leader Karthik (Khanna). This separation, coupled with concept art that appears to show older Pavi and Nisha, has led fans to suspect the series may have a time jump between seasons one and two.
Will Avatar: Seven Havens Have A Significant Time Jump?

Recently, DiMartino addressed this theory in an interview with TV Insider, stating that the time between seasons in-universe would be “a few weeks maybe, but yeah, nothing crazy” (via The Direct). Sethi then noted that the producers are “more kind of sticking to what sort of Avatar: The Last Airbender did, time-wise.”
In another interview with IGN, Sethi more directly addressed the concept art and the speculation it caused: “That was concept art. So whether there’s a time jump, who’s to say, but that was not a time jump piece of art.” Spaulding also discussed the series’ timeline, echoing Sethi’s suggestion that it will follow The Last Airbender’s lead.
“Within the span of a series, there’s time in between episodes,” the showrunner said. “It’s not very big, but you could say they’re traveling for weeks or months.”
Of note, the Avatar franchise is no stranger to time skips. The Legend of Korra jumped three years between season 3 and 4, though this is an outlier as prior seasons had shorter gaps, more like those of The Last Airbender.
Avatar: Seven Havens is now available to stream on Paramount+.
