Auburn pitchers Andreas Alvarez and LJ Cormier combined to strike out 14 Ole Miss batters on Friday, but a pair of two-run home runs by the Rebels in the middle innings outweighed Auburn8217;s ability to get them to swing and miss.
Ole Miss’ defense also limited Auburn’s damage at the plate. Auburn left 10 runners on base and went 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
The Tigers look to turn things around on Saturday with Alex Petrovic on the mound. Can they get it done? Follow along throughout Saturday’s game for the latest score updates and highlights from game two of the Auburn Super Regional between the Auburn Tigers and the Ole Miss Rebels from Plainsman Park in Auburn.
From the desk of Auburn head coach Butch Thompson, here’s how the Tigers will line up for game two of the Auburn Super Regional:

Bristol Carter is out of Saturday’s lineup.
