Atlanta Dream currently have highest chance of winning WNBA Finals according to Opta

The 2026 WNBA postseason is in full swing and Opta’s supercomputer shows who is currently the most likely team to go on and win this year’s WNBA Finals.

Two teams have already secured their place in the second round of the playoffs, with the New York Liberty seeing off the Minnesota Lynx and the Atlanta Dream beating the Washington Mystics 2-0 in the first round.

Elsewhere, the Las Vegas Aces and the Indiana Fever will play a game-three decider on Thursday before the Dallas Wings and the Golden State Valkyries play their third and final first-round tie on Friday.

It remains to be seen exactly who will progress out of that quartet, but for the time being, it is the Dream who Opta gives the highest chance of winning this season’s final.

Atlanta Dream most likely team to win WNBA Finals

At the time of writing, Opta’s supercomputer, which is updated after every game, gives Atlanta a 38.2% chance of emerging victorious.

The Valkyries, despite still not securing their place in the next round, are then the second-most likely team to win the WNBA Finals (22.6%).

The Liberty take third place at present (17.7%), while defending champions the Aces have an 11.0% chance of holding onto their crown.

Elsewhere, the Indiana Fever have a 6.8% chance of winning the WNBA Finals, and the Wings are given the lowest chance out of all the remaining teams (3.7%).

This year’s WNBA Finals begins on October 17 and could end on October 31 if all seven games need to be played.
