Arsenal star could leave before deadline after new agent holds talks with Serie A giants

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus could be on his way out of North London before the transfer window closes, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that the forward’s new agent met with Napoli today over a potential summer move to Italy.

The Brazilian international is seeking new opportunities after dropping down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, sparking keen interest across Europe’s top leagues.

Fabrizio Romano: Gabriel Jesus’ agent meets Napoli

Writing on X, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Gabriel Jesus’ newly appointed representative held formal talks with Napoli executives in Italy.

The meeting was facilitated in part because the agent also represents manager Massimiliano Allegri, creating a direct line of communication between the parties.

Romano noted that Jesus is open to a Serie A move, though Arsenal have made their position clear: they will only consider a permanent exit rather than a loan deal.

Furthermore, Napoli are not the sole suitors in the race, and the Italian champions must sanction departures, specifically finding a resolution for Romelu Lukaku, before submitting an official opening bid to Arsenal.

Jesus looking likely to leave Arsenal before window shuts

With interest mounting across Europe, Gabriel Jesus looks increasingly likely to leave Arsenal before the transfer window shuts.

Since arriving from Manchester City in 2022 for £45 million, the 29-year-old forward has delivered moments of brilliance but has seen his regular starting role curtailed by persistent injury setbacks and tactical shifts in Mikel Arteta’s lineup.

Arsenal’s stance on demanding a permanent transfer reflects their desire to recoup funds for their own late-window recruitment efforts.

While Jesus’ versatility and high-intensity pressing make him a valuable squad asset, the player’s appetite for guaranteed starting minutes is driving the push toward a move.

With Trossard already sold, and Jesus expected to leave as well, a new elite attacker will be expected to come in.

Arsenal were famously linked with a move to sign Vinicius Jr., however, despite the Gunners making a ‘monstrous’ offer, the Brazilian decided to extend his contract with Real Madrid.

Bradley Barcola is now another player linked with a move, with reports suggesting the Gunners will try and hijack Liverpool’s deal for him.
