Arsenal could join the battle for Maximilian Beier next summer

While the summer transfer window might have only slammed shut earlier in the month, Arsenal are still planning behind the scenes and are already putting together their preparations for next year.

The Gunners have been keeping a close eye on Borussia Dortmund starlet Maximilian Beier and the 23-year-old is quickly emerging as a real player of interest in north London, according to a report from TEAMtalk.

Opening his Bundesliga account after bagging the winner away at Stuttgart last weekend, the former Hoffenheim youngster is reportedly attracting plenty of interest from the Premier League.

Registering 15 direct Bundesliga goal contributions last season (nine goals, six assists), Beier was rewarded with a spot in Germany’s World Cup squad over the summer.

Quickly becoming a key figure for the Germany giants, Beier was reportedly on Arsenal’s radar over the summer and Mikel Arteta’s side are still keeping a close eye on the 10-cap international.

It has been suggested that the Gunners have been monitoring Dortmund’s attacking star over the past 12 months and see him as a perfect long-term option.

However, although the reigning Premier League champions might be weighing up a potential move next summer, Arteta’s men could face some tricky competition in the race for Beier’s signature.

Both registering their own interest over the summer, Manchester United and bitter north London rivals Tottenham are monitoring proceedings closely.

Beier joined BVB two years for a reported fee in the region of €30million and his current deal at Signal Iduna Park runs until the summer of 2029.

Arsenal have been assessing a number of attacking options as they continue to plan for the future, with Borussia Dortmund forward Maximilian Beier emerging as a player of interest, @TEAMtalk understands.
