Arrest of Broncos star defender creates perfect trade opportunity for the Steelers

According to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, Denver Broncos edge rusher Jonathon Cooper was arrested on domestic violence charges. This whole situation is very new and there is lots of information still coming in and we are in no way jumping to any conclusions about what will happen with this case.

However, from the steelers/356" target="_blank">Pittsburgh Steelers point of view, if another team loses their second-best pass rusher, it creates an opportunity for the Steelers to potentially free up some of the Steelers’ logjam at edge defender they currently have. The Steelers just have backup edge defender Nick Herbig a massive $100 million contract extension and including T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith, have more than $82 million in salary cap space wrapped up in just those three spot.

Pittsburgh has been busy this offseason giving out some massive contracts, and it’s made their roster very thin if any injuries pop up. If Cooper is suspended by the league for the Broncos believe he will be, they could be in the market for a guy to pair up with Nik Bonitto.
