Arne Slot's next potential job revealed after Liverpool exit

Arne Slot was finally relieved of his duties as Liverpool’s manager on 30 May.

The Dutchman may have won the Anfield outfit a Premier League title during his first season in charge but, his fifth-place finish in the 2025-26 season did not end how anyone wanted.

Nothing went right for Liverpool and Slot this term but that doesn’t mean that he’s a bad manager.

The fact that he won the Premier League is a massive achievement in itself and, it’s not hard to see why other clubs want him as their manager.

And now, his next potential destination may have already been revealed.

Fulham have added Arne Slot to their shortlist

Several Premier League teams have already changed their managers ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Fulham are among them and, since the Cottagers have only just found out that Marco Silva is exiting, they have plenty of time to weigh up their options.

Obviously, their ideal candidate would have probably been Iraola but, since he’s chosen the Reds, he’s off the table.

And now, according to a report from TEAMtalk, it seems like Tony Khan is already drafting up a shortlist of potential replacements.

“Fulham have begun work on identifying Marco Silva’s successor and are preparing to open talks with a number of managerial targets, including Ruben Amorim, Thomas Frank and Arne Slot, TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal,” they wrote.

“We understand that former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is firmly on Fulham’s radar following his departure from Old Trafford.

“Likewise, Thomas Frank is being considered after being relieved of his duties at Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the year, while Arne Slot has also emerged as a potential option after Liverpool opted to part ways with the Dutchman last week.

“All three are admired internally and are viewed as coaches capable of building on the foundations Silva leaves behind.”

Arne Slot would be better off getting out of the media spotlight

When you’re employed as the head coach of Liverpool, you’re guaranteed to be extensively covered by the media.

Whether you’re flying high or getting battered, there’s no way to avoid the media when you’re in charge of a club that’s Liverpool’s size.

Before the Dutchman made the switch to Anfield, he was in charge of Feyenoord.

They’re still one of the Eredivisie’s most well-known teams but, with how dominant Ajax were, Slot flew under the radar which allowed him to win the title back in the 2022-23 season.

And, whether this was just a fluke or not, it feels like he’d be better off away from the spotlight at his next job and, if we’re being honest, there’s no better place to do that than with a team such as Fulham.

They’re due to undergo a massive rebuild due to the age of their squad but, if he’s given more freedom and is allowed to express his playing style, he could probably do a decent job and keep the Cottagers in the Premier League.

Of course, , joining Fulham feels like the best Premier League move for him.

That is, even if it is a bit of a downgrade.
